Nigel Jervis brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in team management, educational programming, and project execution to his role as Project Manager, Learning Services at Weld Australia. With a career spanning over three decades, Nigel has honed his skills in various educational and technical disciplines across New Zealand and Canada, showcasing his adeptness in leading teams, developing advanced trade programs, and implementing strategic educational initiatives.

Before joining Weld Australia, Nigel served as the Team Manager for the Centre for Engineering and Trades at Wintec (Te Pūkenga) in Hamilton, New Zealand. In this role, Nigel led a teaching team through local strategic changes and adapted to shifts in the education sector at a national level. His responsibilities ranged from delivering on-site and online pre-trade programs to overseeing apprenticeship programs and diploma courses. His collaborative approach and commitment to inclusive learning experiences consistently resulted in improved student outcomes and team performance.

Nigel’s background is rich with roles that required both technical expertise and leadership finesse. He started his career as Machinist, operating drill presses, lathes and milling machines. He soon moved into leading hand and manufacturing supervisor roles, supervising tradesmen and apprentices and ensuring quality control. In 2011, Nigel moved into education and training roles, developing blended learning apprenticeship training, and supporting students both theoretically and practically.

Nigel’s hands-on experience is complemented by his leadership positions, having supervised and mentored diverse teams, managed budgets, and led quality and risk initiatives. Nigel’s systematic and logical approach to project management, coupled with his exceptional interpersonal skills, positions him as a valuable asset to the Weld Australia team.
