Joseph Sandor
Principal Welding Technology Trainer
With 44 years in the metal fabrication and welding industry, Joseph has a strong passion for welding.
Prior to joining Weld Australia, Joseph was a metal fabrication and welding teacher for TAFE NSW. In his role he was responsible for trade students from Stage 1, right through to Certificate IV. His experience in AS 1796 helped many students gain their first welding ticket.
His other positions have included leading hand at Joy Mining where was involved in the manufacturing of a prototype mining machine. Joseph was also a welding supervisor for many years with Able Engineering, where he was responsible for overseeing large teams of fabricators and welders. In his role at Able Engineering Joseph also undertook NDT testing, drafting weld procedures and consulted with customers.
Over the years, Joseph has worked across a range of industries, from rail stock, mining equipment and pressure vessels, through to the fabrication of truck bodies for the RMS, and light and heavy steel structures.
Joseph has been involved as a judge on numerous occasions in the regional competitions for WorldSkills in the Illawarra.
Joseph holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a diploma in welding, all tickets in AS 1796 including Certificate 10, and AS 2214 Welding Supervisor certification.
